No one knows when love will find you. We all wonder about it. We all hear about chance encounters at the grocery store, falling for someone we work with, or even that blind date that neither party wanted to go on but were glad they did. We even hear about falling in love at the chiropractor’s office. Whoa. Wait. Where? Yes, you read that correctly and if you have any doubt ask Audra and Abby and they will gladly tell you all about it. In fact, they do tell you a lot about their love in pictures.

Holiday Park in Indianapolis was the perfect backdrop for the telling of their love story. This along with the choice of The Barn at Kennedy Farm as their wedding venue speaks of this couples love of the outdoors. Each engagement photo speaks of the warmth and security this couple feels in being together. Each photo is rich in the symbols of their love.

The tall evergreen seems to speak of eternal love, always green, always fresh, always there.

Sitting on the strong branch of a majestic tree speaks of support, trust, and strength to weather any storm.

Photos in front of the historic ruins in the park speak of romance and enduring love.

Walking hand in hand through the fallen leaves speaks of lightness and fun.

Each photograph thoughtfully planned, each embrace, kiss, and smile spontaneously evoked. The perfect collection of who this couple is and what their life together will be built upon.

One of the best parts about photographing couples on their journey to marriage is getting to hear their stories about how their love came to be. No couple or story is ever the same and it never gets old. In fact, it’s one of the perks that makes this job so fun and so rewarding.

In the case of Claire and Zack, this couldn’t be more true. Bringing their smiles, laughter, and undeniable affection for one another, we met on the canal in dowtown Indianapolis for their engagement session. The fact that they both live in separate places – Claire’s is in New Jersey and Zack’s currently living in Oklahoma City – certainly played a part in their thrill to be together for the photo shoot and it shows.

Now, you know a love must be true when a person has literally traveled the globe only to return home and find that special someone there. Claire falls into the category of people fortunate enough to have traveled extensively in her life. Even more incredible, she spent 3 years in China! However, it was at home in the US where Claire found her life’s companion. Having met at a small college in Illinois, Claire and Zack’s relationship has only grown despite the miles between them.

The day of the session was perfect. Everything from the weather to the different settings around the city used for the photo shoot made it a walk in the park. Of course, it could have been raining and it wouldn’t have mattered; their chemistry was so strong that even an unpredictable obstacle like rain wouldn’t have stood in the way.

With their wedding planned for next year at the Indiana Landmarks Center, Claire and Zack anxiously count down the days until the distance between them finally closes in.

Imagine yourself with the person you love, standing in a green, wooded area. There’s a lake nearby, with rocky shores and a charming bridge over a small section of it. The sun is shining, you’re holding hands… even your dog is there.

Sounds incredible, right? That was reality for Mark and Jillian during their engagement photo session at Jillian’s parents’ home. The tree-lined trails and expansive meadow were perfectly romantic, creating a beautiful backdrop for their photos. We even were able to use a delightful arbor, adding great depth and a dreamy feel to the setting.

We love incorporating our clients unique personalities into engagement sessions. The previously mentioned pup joined in on the fun for some great pictures. We also set up a party scene for the celebration of two becoming one. Because the wedding will be taking place on Cinco de Mayo, a theme was in order – sombreros, pennants, and a cold Corona.

All of these elements came together for a gorgeous set of photos, perfect for memorializing the beginning of their lives together.

Their wedding will be taking place in the castle-like Scottish Rite Cathedral in Indianapolis next year. Built in 1929, it is a breathtaking building ideal for such an occasion as a wedding. Known for having the one of the largest carillons in the United States within its “Singing Tower”, as well as its intricate woodworking and stained glass, and two story ballroom, this location is fit for a king – or in this case pharmacist and a future ER doctor.

We are always ecstatic to be able to partake in people’s happiness, and capture the moments and memories most precious to them. Each memory we capture has its own nuances and beauty to it, and being able to understand that and explore the possibilities that come with it gives us great joy. With Lori & Dustin’s Engagement session, we accomplished just that.

Lori is a truly inspiring person, working as a labor and delivery nurse while also serving on the lifeline helicopter. To be able to capture the love that her and Dustin shared was truly an honor. They currently plan to be wed next year, at the Indiana Landmarks.

For their engagement session, they chose the canal in downtown Indianapolis. The beauty of the water against the stark concrete of the city was a great juxtaposition to compose a great visual and give the shots some depth. We also used some of the brilliant fall colors as a backdrop. Not only did this enable us to capture the beauty of the season, but the fall trees gave the photos an added realm of color. The photographs were a mix of candids and posed, so that the couple could have a variety of choices with the canal serving as the ultimate backdrop in many of the photos.

Photography is a wonderful way to capture the mood and atmosphere of a city and its dwellers, and in this engagement session photoshoot, we were able to strike a balance between the two. It was truly a special moment, and a special session. We wish the happy couple a lifetime of happiness and joy.

Alexandra and Will, a recently engaged couple in Indianapolis, decided that it was important to both of them to capture some images of this incredibly important milestone in their lives to share with family and friends both far away and close to home.

It’s funny, sometimes, how fate can bring people from different parts of the country together, and more amazing still that they somehow manage to find each other and fall deeply in love. Alexandra is a native of Texas, and Will hails from Virginia. Both ended up pursuing their dreams in Indianapolis, and in the process, they miraculously met and were drawn to each other. Out of diverse dreams — Alexandra is applying to med school, while Will is building his career at the fantastic Conrad Indianapolis Hotel — they came together and fell in love.

While strolling around downtown Indianapolis’ famous canal, a place they like to frequent, Will mustered the courage to profess his love and propose marriage to Alexandra, who of course said “yes”, the answer Will had been hoping for with all his heart! Now, they’re planning a life together in the city where they met and fell in love!

They chose the spectacular Indianapolis Museum of Art — a place they both love to visit — for their engagement photo session. Surrounded by the beauty of late fall on the grounds of the museum and against the backdrop of the building’s amazing architecture, we captured images of the love and joy they are feeling in this special moment in their lives. These are happy, joyful images that will allow them to revisit this unique and perfect time again and again throughout their lifetime together!
