Jen was pampered among her bridesmaids. All in personalized black robes, hair up and waiting, laughing together. Then lace came to their torsos and fabric flowed to their feet, the girls were ready for their own brick and pavement photos. David and his groomsmen walked the large brick sidewalk in front of the Monument Circle, traffic moving steadily behind. And the men sat on a curb among giant statues of the centerpiece of the city, a chain behind them saying do not cross, strong like the knot that David and Jen would tie that day. David and his men found a way through and climbed near the statues, the sun shining behind like an omen for greatness.

There is something about a bridal party, all in chiffon and silk, lace and lipstick and holding tied up flowers, standing against a backdrop of old dark bricks and pavement. The old and worn against the new and bright. Isn’t this love? It is all beautiful, as all people are, as long as we look. Jen and David’s wedding pictures are a reminder of what has been and the life that always goes forward. Generations. History. A world that is bigger than any of us, but a love that continues to grow in individuals. The bridesmaids wore a light teal, and Jen the pure white of brides. They walked among traffic, too, entering the Indiana Statehouse, glowing with joy. Flowers in pinks and whites added much to the aura.

The Statehouse, with its Doric architecture, marble floors and brass chandeliers, the balcony, the stained glass dome made, for the grandest entrance. Flowers were set, but little was needed to make this the perfect location for Jen and David’s love.  The beauty of texture explodes in these photos, and then Jen and David meet for the first time as husband and wife. After, we caught her veil like angel wings in the grass, David nearby, proud to have caught this beauty. The reception was at The Marrot, a hotel originally opened in 1926 and boasting a host of impeccable sights. Somehow flowing with yet also adding to the Statehouse wedding ceremony, the new family celebrated here, dancing eating under colorful lighting and the shade of a day to

After years of practical experience in wedding photography, we decided it was time to expand our horizons. To showcase our photography, as well as smoothly integrate our new video service, we finally did that styled shoot that we have had in the back of our minds for a while now. It gave us the chance to sort of plan our own weddings again and with the help from fellow vendor friends we were able to gather some beautiful details. From rose gold silverware, a vintage dress which fit the bride perfectly, and the Balmoral House being a beautiful venue it all came together just as we had envisioned. The simplicity and elegance of everything fit what we were striving for but is also a perfect representation of the Vow & Forever experience.

With our new husband and wife video team, more on that in another post,  we packed up and headed for the Balmoral House which is a fantastic new venue in Fishers. This shoot gave us the unique opportunity to explore our creativity. A real wedding is like a live TV broadcast, it does not always allow you the time to properly explore new ideas. Using well designed sets and professional models, this styled shoot was the perfect opportunity to refine our technique. Just like a real wedding, not everything went according to plan. One of the female models came up unexpectedly sick. To everyone’s delight, and without hesitation, the venue coordinator, Grace, jumped right in to fill the void. She did a wonderful job and the day was a complete success.

As we expected, our videographers, Brett and Michaela did not disappoint! They hit the ground running, and showed us what a great addition they will be to the Vow & Forever team and for our clients. Another post soon to follow with the video so stay tuned!

Vow & Forver

We met Rob & Amy at a bridal show earlier in the year and instantly knew there wedding day was going to be stunning from beginning to end.  They chose The Sycamore at Mallow Run Winery as their venue before they had even opened the doors…..and let us to be the first to say….this venue is spectacular!  It is clear from the moment you walk through the door that no detail was left out which makes for such a memorable wedding day. This was the first wedding at the new venue and they started things off with a bang. The jaw dropping floral designs by McNamara florists shined throughout the day….check out the ceremony!  Rob & Amy truly created the most beautiful day to share with their friends and family and we are so thankful to have been a part of it.  Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Lather!

Oh wow….where to start with this fantastic session??!!  Upon meeting with Kayli & Chris about a month ago, it was pretty clear to me that this was going to be an engagement session to remember!  They were really uncertain about their shooting locations but upon getting to know them, we learned that they live in a pretty cool, quaint, Indiana town but….Chris’ family also lives and works on an orchard!  Yes, an orchard…. truly a photographer’s dream.  We started in downtown New Castle and then moved on to Eatons Orchard.  Eaton Orchard is a magical place, complete with a gorgeous restored farmhouse, a farmer’s market and a 1950 Chevy truck and of course, the most gracious hosts, Chris’ family.  The family is so incredibly proud of their orchard, their family’s history on the land and the fact that they are able to share it with others.  It was a privilege to shoot at Eatons Orchard and capture it’s beauty with this gorgeous couple!  Enjoy!
