Jen was pampered among her bridesmaids. All in personalized black robes, hair up and waiting, laughing together. Then lace came to their torsos and fabric flowed to their feet, the girls were ready for their own brick and pavement photos. David and his groomsmen walked the large brick sidewalk in front of the Monument Circle, traffic moving steadily behind. And the men sat on a curb among giant statues of the centerpiece of the city, a chain behind them saying do not cross, strong like the knot that David and Jen would tie that day. David and his men found a way through and climbed near the statues, the sun shining behind like an omen for greatness.
There is something about a bridal party, all in chiffon and silk, lace and lipstick and holding tied up flowers, standing against a backdrop of old dark bricks and pavement. The old and worn against the new and bright. Isn’t this love? It is all beautiful, as all people are, as long as we look. Jen and David’s wedding pictures are a reminder of what has been and the life that always goes forward. Generations. History. A world that is bigger than any of us, but a love that continues to grow in individuals. The bridesmaids wore a light teal, and Jen the pure white of brides. They walked among traffic, too, entering the Indiana Statehouse, glowing with joy. Flowers in pinks and whites added much to the aura.
The Statehouse, with its Doric architecture, marble floors and brass chandeliers, the balcony, the stained glass dome made, for the grandest entrance. Flowers were set, but little was needed to make this the perfect location for Jen and David’s love. The beauty of texture explodes in these photos, and then Jen and David meet for the first time as husband and wife. After, we caught her veil like angel wings in the grass, David nearby, proud to have caught this beauty. The reception was at The Marrot, a hotel originally opened in 1926 and boasting a host of impeccable sights.
