The Jimmy D Golf Outing is an event which allows my family and friends to pay a bit of a tribute to Jimmy, who passed away rather suddenly almost 10 years ago.  He was an amazing person on so many levels. Just thinking about him puts a smile on your face which then makes you remember one of his key characteristics, his smile. He is literally someone you name your kid after as a number of his friends have done just that. The golf outing allows us to get together and have a good time on the links but it also has allowed us to donate to several causes throughout the years. Not only did he leave a lasting impression behind but he also left a wonderful little girl, Annabelle. She helps fill that void and watching her grow up has been a source of joy.

Luckily, Jimmy’s aunt Ruthe is also a photographer in the Hilton Head Island area and make a point to join us every year and is kind of enough to bring her camera to capture it all. We can always keep his memory alive in our minds, but it’s also great to see these photos and keep the memory of the Jimmy D Golf Outing alive as well. We can look over those photos in between the yearly get together and talk about who did better than expected and who did worse. We can even talk about who was just there for a good time.

We all miss our friend and even if teams stop signing up there will always be a group that makes it a point to come together for a single purpose of remembrance.

We’ll end this with the way Jimmy ended a lot of his conversations; cheers!

Being the kid of a wedding photographer can be tough…..with every detail documented, it can be down right annoying!  As wedding photogs, we see events as a story to tell and naturally capture that story through the lens.  Faye and Corey had their first Father Daughter Dance this weekend and the moments and images melted this mama’s heart!  Faye is not a girlie girl and wants nothing to do with makeup and fancy shoes.  She loves animals and the color orange and only allows her hair in a bun for “special occasions.”  All that said, she loved the idea of going on a date with her dad.

The event was at the Blue Falls Arts and Event Center in Pendleton.  We have shot several weddings there and it took everything in me not to secretly follow them with a camera, ha!  It was a luau theme complete with authentic Hula dancers.  It was all smiles when they returned home and Faye is still practicing her Hula moves!

Her shoes of choice were completely function over fashion!  “Yup, I can dance in those!”  Oh, sweet girl, please don’t grow up!

She loved her reflection!

Doing her nails is about as girlie as it gets, no pink for her!  Love her accent nail.

Oh, that look.

It was such a special evening!  Thank you, Corey, for being such an awesome dad!

oxoxo,

Brooke
