We met Erin & John almost exactly one year ago for their fall engagement session. Instantly, when we met them, we knew they were going to be so much fun to work with! And, we were definitely right. What can I say about their wedding day, other than perfectly beautiful. From the lively wedding party to the amazing vendor team, Erin & John know how to throw a party.
Their day started at the Embassy Suites in downtown Indianapolis, the weather was perfect and the views of the skyline were perfect. Erin has three sisters and I don’t think I have ever seen such a sweet getting ready moment. What girl wouldn’t want to be surrounded by her mom and closest best friends for life getting into her wedding dress?! The best part of it all was that Erin & John were so calm and laid back, just ready to start their life together.
The ceremony was at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. As many times as we have captured a wedding here, each one is special in their own way. Erin & John’s mass was simply beautiful and St. Mary’s offers one of the best “exit the church” photo ops in the city! The gorgeous architecture of the church perfectly frames the excited couple as they exit through their loving guests. Love it every time!
With a downtown wedding, you have to take the wedding party to all of the gorgeous spots downtown Indianapolis has to offer – Monument Circle, the view of the state house, historic Lockerbie. For Erin & John, you would never have known that Monument Circle was crawling with people. The crowds literally parted for them in their shots! Aside from passing cars, in their photos, it was as if the day was theirs and only theirs!
Their reception was at the historic Indiana Roof Ballroom atop the Indiana Repertory Theatre. The amazing part about this venue is that the staff there does not consider it to be just a reception – they consider each event a production! I am not kidding. They consider all of your senses when they put on their show from the event space reveal, to the pouring of champagne to the lighting schemes throughout the evening. This is truly a venue one does not forget especially when you consider how many people in history have graced that stage and danced on that ballroom floor. Erin & John definitely added themselves to the ballroom’s gorgeous memory.
Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Okerson! Thank you so much for including us in your day! We cannot wait to celebrate with you again at another Neher sister wedding next November! Yay for more Neher sister shotskis!!!
